How to Install Android L Developer Preview on Nexus 5 and Nexus 7

Google launched the Android L at the Google I/O 2014 alongside the "<a href="http://www.skytechblog.com/2014/06/android-one-project-announced-by-google.html">Android One Project</a>". The Android L is a major overhaul from Android ICS, Jelly Bean and KitKat. Many things have changed with the "Material" design Google is trying to beautify the entire user experience. New card style multitasking, New notification bar etc have changed. Along with new icons the settings panel is also been changed. Google released the Developer preview of Android L for the Nexus 5 and Nexus 7 2013 WI-FI only model and it is now ready to be flashed on your device. 
NOTE: Before proceeding take a backup of your contacts, sms, apps another important data. Otherwise everything will be lost. This is a Developer preview and will have Bugs so it is recommended only for developers and not for daily users. 
Pre-Requisites
● <a href="http://developer.android.com/preview/setup-sdk.html">Nexus 5 Android L image</a> 
● <a href="http://developer.android.com/preview/setup-sdk.html">Nexus 7 (2013) (Wi-Fi only) Android L image</a>  
● <a href="http://d-h.st/iqA">Fastboot/ADB files for Windows</a>  or <a href="https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/1360819/android.zip">Mac</a> 
● <a href="http://download.clockworkmod.com/test/UniversalAdbDriverSetup6.msi">USB Drivers for Windows</a>  
Instructions for Flashing Android L
1. Download the factory image of your device, Fastboot/ADB files, Drives and extract all their contents inside a new folder called "Nexus". And install the drivers. 
2. Open up a new Terminal or Command Prompt window and use the ‘cd’ command to navigate to the “Nexus” folder created in previous step on your desktop.
For eg.  cd USERNAME/desktop/Nexus
3. Switch off your Nexus 5 or Nexus 7 and reboot them into bootloader mode using the respective key combination 
Nexus 5: Volume Up + Volume Down + Power 
Nexus 7: Volume Down + Power
4. Make sure that your Nexus device is being detected by the PC when connected via USB.
For PC type the following in command promt. 
fastboot devices
For Mac you need to prefix a “./” before every Fastboot command. For example type the following command 
./fastboot devices
This will check whether your nexus device is properly connected or not. If not, then install the drivers once again and make sure that they are placed in the same folder. 
5. Now unlock the bootloader of your Nexus device by executing the below command. 
fastboot oem unlock
Make sure to confirm the selection on your Nexus 5 or 7 by pressing the Volume up button. 
6. If you are running Windows then type the following command in command prompt window:
flash-all.bat
For Mac type the command:
./flash-all.sh
7. Your nexus device will reboot now. The first boot after flashing the factory image of Android L will take more time then a normal boot so keep patience and don't be panic.
And there you have it your Nexus 5 or Nexus 7 is now running the latest Android L Developer preview. Enjoy!

<a href="http://www.skytechblog.com/2014/05/micromax-unite-2-a106-with-4-7-inch.html">Micromax Unite 2 A106</a> one of the few smartphone running Android 4.4 KitKat has finally received rooting treatment.  Micromax Unite 2 A106 has a 4.7 inch display with IPS technology and WVGA resolution. It is powered by a 1.3 GHz MediaTek quad-core processor. It has a 5-megapixel autofocus rear camera with LED flash and a 2-megapixel fixed focus front-facing camera. Overall a decent value for money phone by Micromax. Sudeep Duhoon over at XDA Developers has finally found out a way to successfully Root the Micromax Unite 2 A106 and also created a custom recovery for the device. 
Tip:- Developer suggests you to backup your phones stock rom with read back technique. And make sure you know basic things related to rooting. 
Instructions
1. Download and Install <a href="http://www.driverscape.com/download/mtk-usb-port-(com5) ">MTK VCOM drivers</a> on your PC. 
2. Download and copy <a href="http://download.chainfire.eu/446/SuperSU/UPDATE-SuperSU-v1.99r3.zip">SuperSU v1.99r3.zip</a> to your memory card. 
3. Download this <a href="https://www.dropbox.com/s/c5afp4ddnha5k30/CTR%202.2%20A106.img">CTR v2.2 Recovery</a> and place it in pc.  
4. Download SP Flash tools (<a href="http://ge.tt/2K2jdYh1/v/0?c">here</a> or <a href="http://www.mediafire.com/download/aix6jxmcbxmmc2b/SP+Flash+Tool+3.1352.01+(5.1352.01).rar">here</a>) and Start it and load this 
<a href="http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=2776357&stc=1&d=1401705655">MT6582_Android_scatter.txt</a> in it. 
5. Click on 'recovery' in SP Flash.tools and select the downloaded CTR v2.2 Recovery. 
6. Click Download in SP flash tools, remove the battery from phone and connect it. A green circle will confirm flashing. 
7. Insert battery and press volume up+down+power on,  then press volume up to select recovery.
Note:- In CTR recovery you can swipe right to go forward and swipe back to go backward, use it to navigate, save volume buttons.
8. Tap on install from sd card and swipe right on screen to go forward, select SuperSU.zip and say yes to flash. 
9. Reboot/Restart, Done.
You will now see a SuperSU app in your app drawer that means you have successfully rooted and flashed a custom recovery on your Micromax Unite 2 A106.

How to Root Micromax Canvas 2 Colours A120 and Install ClockworkMod recovery

Micromax recently launched the Canvas 2 Colors A120. The Canvas 2 Colors A120 which comes with a 5-inch HD display with 1280×720 pixels resolution. It is powered by a 1.3GHz <a href="http://www.skytechblog.com/2014/01/understanding-difference-between.html">MediaTek MT6582</a> quad-core processor with 1GB of RAM and 4GB of internal storage. Installing ClockworkMod Recovery on Micromax Canvas 2 Colours A120 (without PC)
1. Download and install Mobile uncle tools from <a href="https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.mobileuncle.toolbox&referrer=utm_source%3Dgoogle%26utm_medium%3Dorganic%26utm_term%3Dmobileuncle+tools">Google play store</a> or from <a href="http://www.mediafire.com/download/nz4xwuz5z3c8x8l/Mobileuncle+Tools_20140111v2.9.9.apk">here</a>. 
2. Download recovery.img from <a href="http://www.mediafire.com/download/log4hly8vwf1noz/recovery.img">here</a> and transfer it to your SD Card. 
3. Start the MobileUncle tools app 
4. Now select update recovery option & choose the recovery.img that you have transferred to your SDcard 
5. This will flash CWM (Clockworkmod) recovery. 
6. After the flashing ends your phone will reboot in recovery 
And there you have it a rooted Micromax Canvas 2 Colours A120 with clockworkmod recovery installed. Enjoy!

How to Root Samsung Galaxy S5 SM-G900F with CF Auto Root

The recently launched Samsung Galaxy S5 is the company's latest flagship phone. The phone has a 5.1 Full HD display and its running on the Android 4.4.2 KitKat OS. Just like any other Samsung phone it comes with Touchwiz UI on top of android. And now coming to the point the Samsung Galaxy S5 SM-G900F the LTE variant which is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon processor just got Rooted. Chainfire a XDA developers member managed to root his device and gain root access successfully. This guide is specifically for the Qualcomm Snapdragon powered variant and not for the <a href="http://www.skytechblog.com/2014/03/samsung-galaxy-s5-with-51-inch-full-hd.html">Exynos Octa core version which is just launched in India</a>.

Instructions 
1. Download and Extract the CF-Auto-Root-klte-kltexx-smg900f.zip file 
2. Extract just once, you need to end up with a .tar.md5 file 
3. Disconnect your phone from your computer if connected 
4. Start Odin.exe 
5.  Click the PDA button, and select CF-Auto-Root-....tar.md5 
6. Put your phone in download mode (turn off phone, then hold VolDown +Home+Power to boot - if it asks you to press a button to continue, press the listed button, or run adb reboot download command) 
7. Connect the phone to your computer via USB 
8. Make sure Repartition is NOT checked in Odin 
9.  Click the Start button 
10.  Wait for Android to boot 
That's it! If you see a SuperSU app in the menu then have successfully rooted your Samsung Galaxy S5 SM-G900F 
NOTE: Sometimes the device does not boot into recovery mode and root your device. Just do the entire procedure again if this happens. If it still will not install root and such, make sure that in Odin "Auto Reboot" is not checked. Then after flashing, pull the battery, and boot with VolUp+Home+Power button to boot into recovery manually. This will start the install process.

Rooting Karbonn A12+ via PC

5. Open SRS One Click Root app on PC. Select the Root Device (SmartRoot) option. 
6. After a while, your phone will ask if you want to install the application SRS Root is sending you over ADB. Tick the checkbox and select Install. 
7. When a popup appears on 
your phone asking you to choose the exploit, select Install SuperSU and click on Bormir. A Success message will be displayed on your phone as well as PC. 
8. Reboot your phone and you will find a SuperSU app in your app drawer.

Micromax Canvas Magnus A116 the younger brother of the Canvas Turbo A250. The Canvas Magnus is a little bit stripped down version of the Canvas Turbo. Instructions 
 
1. Make sure USB debugging is enabled. Go to Settings > About phone > And tap atlest 7-8 times on build number and now get back and go to Developer options > Enable USB debugging 
2. Make sure that you have installed the drivers properly otherwise install this <a href="http://www.mediafire.com/download/nv96xclhjmaiclu/Mobistel_Cynus_T1_Drivers_x86.exe">Mediatek MT6589 drivers</a>  
3. Extract the MTK6589 Auto Root file anywhere in your PC. 
4. Connect your phone to PC via USB 
5. Run run.bat file from the extracted MTK6589 Auto Root folder 
6. Press any key and wait while the Auto root tool roots your phone 
7. After finished, now reboot 
 
Now after your device reboota you will find a SuperSU app in the app drawer. 
 
Install Clockworkmod Recovery on Lava Iris 504Q 
 
Requirements:- <a href="https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.mobileuncle.toolbox">MobileUncle MTK tools</a> from Google Play Store, Rooted Lava Iris 504Q, <a href="http://d-h.st/nIR">Recovery.img</a>, <a href="http://skytech101.blogspot.com/2013/02/what-is-clockworkmod-or-custom-recovery.html">Basic knowledge of recovery</a> 
 
Instructions 
1. Download the recovery and rename it to recovery.img and transfer it to external SD card. 
2. Start the MobileUncle tools. app. 
3. Now select update recovery option & choose the recovery.img that you have transferred to your SDcard 
4. This will flash CWM (Clockworkmod) recovery. 
5. After the flashing ends your phone will reboot in recovery

How to Root and Install Clockworkmod recovery on Samsung Galaxy Mega GT-I9152

Samsung Galaxy Mega 5.8 is one of the biggest smartphone by Samsung. The phone is recently launched. It has a massive 5.8-inch qHD TFT capacitive touch screen display with 960x540 pixels resolution. It runs on the latest Android 4.2 Jelly Bean OS. And powered by a 1.4 GHz dual-core processor to ensure performance. A 8MP auto-focus rear camera with LED Flash with 1.9 MP front facing camera. Instructions
1. Install the drivers on the PC properly. 
2. Switch off the phone & boot into download mode by pressing (Volume Down +Home + Power) And connect your phone to PC. 
3. Start the Odin v3.07 downloaded from above. 
4. As you connect your device you should get a notification in Odin message box. Other wise re-install drivers. 
5. Click on PDA & select the recovery.tar.md5 file. 
6. Now click on start and wait till the process ends. 
7. After the installation go to CWM recovery by pressing (Volume Up +Home +Power).
Now you have successfully flashed a Clockworkmod Touch recovery on your Galaxy Mega 5.8

4. Then choose install zip and then install UPDATE-SuperSU-v1.34.zip
Now as you reboot your device you will find a Superuser app in the app drawer that means you have successfully rooted the device.
